  • Isshiki Patent & Trademark Firm and Isshiki & Partners (collectively, “Isshiki Group”) have established the privacy policy and the site policy as follows in compliance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (“APPI”) and other relevant laws and regulations regarding the handling of personal information.
  • 1. Acquisition of Personal Information
    In this Privacy Policy, “personal information” means information that can be used to identify an individual such as a name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, or other description. Personal information also includes information that cannot be used to identify an individual by itself, but can be readily collated with other information to identify the individual as a result.
    Isshiki Group will acquire personal information by appropriate means.
  • 2. Purpose of use of personal information
    Isshiki Group will use personal information for the following purposes.
    Conducting legal services including intellectual property;
    Notification of seminars, lectures and other events;
    Responding to inquiries;
    Providing newsletters and other intellectual property and law-related information;
    Sending of New Year’s cards, greeting cards, etc.;
    Screening candidates for recruitment and personnel management after recruitment; or
    Other purposes incidental to the above purposes of use.

    Except where permitted under the APPI or any other relevant law or regulation, Isshiki Group will not use an individual’s personal information for any purpose outside of those listed above, without that individual’s prior consent.

    The Isshiki Group may jointly use personal data acquired by each party within the following scope.

    Name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and other contact information, and all other items of personal information held by each party.

    Isshiki Group will take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of personal data handled by the Group, and will manage personal data appropriately.
  • 6. Notification of purpose of use of personal data
    Whenever we receive a request or demand for disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, elimination, suspension of provision to a third party, or notification of the purpose of use of retained personal data, or disclosure of records of provision to a third party, in accordance with the APPI, Isshiki Group will respond appropriately in accordance with the APPI upon confirmation of the identity of the person making the request.
