Mr. Isshiki is the founder of Isshiki International Law Office, the Tokyo-based international law firm specializing in intellectual property and dispute resolution matters. Prior to founding Isshiki International Law Office in 2011, Mr. Isshiki was a partner at the Morrison & Foerster law firm where he specialized in IP disputes and represented clients in over 30 U.S. litigation matters.

In addition to representing clients in U.S. litigation and international dispute matters, Mr. Isshiki provides on-the-ground litigation support to international law firms representing Japanese clients as well as to international clients involved in Japanese litigation. Mr. Isshiki also handles a variety of cross-border negotiation matters, including in dealing with cease-and-desist letters.

Isshiki International Law Office is affiliated with Isshiki & Co., a Japanese patent and trademark firm with about 70 patent attorneys and staff. In working closely with Isshiki & Co., Mr. Isshiki provides patent opinions, conducts IP due diligence and freedom-to-operate assessment, helps develop and implement IP enforcement strategy, among other services.

Mr. Isshiki writes and lectures extensively on a wide range of topics, including U.S. patent litigation, IP enforcement strategy and trade secrets compliance. He has lectured at the Japan Patent Office, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the Japan Patent Attorneys Association, the University of Tokyo, Waseda University, Keio University, among others.

In 2011, the International Law Office (a London-based legal publishing company) selected Mr. Isshiki as the winner of the Client Choice Award in the Intellectual Property category for Japan for excellence in client service.
